Inspired by early stages of dementia witnessed in a family member, Haptic Memoir (Epilogue to), Asymmetrical Memories, and the Sundowned series consider matrilineal agency within embodied gender roles, how generational inheritance defines experience, and how dissipating memory reimagines identity. Haptic Memoir (Epilogue To): Silk bridal voile, used dryer sheets, voice, microbial cellulose, bisque and second-fire clay husks, cochineal dye, dried and wax-preserved night-blooming cereus. Installation portion includes voice. Asymmetrical Memories: 50g and 200g skeins of alpaca yarn, printed cards, natural wood pencils, 16" and 18” circular knitting needles. Sundowned Series I-VIII: Image with dryer sheet used as filter, (archival ink-jet print on Hahnemühle for exhibition).
